What is Myotherapy
You may not have heard of Myotherapy before, especially in NSW. It is more established in Victoria and is a hands-on form of physical therapy focused on musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

“Myo” means muscle, so Myotherapy essentially means muscle therapy.
Myotherapy is a specialised qualification that combines a range of hands-on treatment techniques, including soft tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping, stretching and joint mobilisation.

A Myotherapist assesses the body to identify contributing factors to pain and movement problems, then uses appropriate treatment techniques to reduce pain, improve mobility and support better function.

Treatment may also include exercise, posture, movement and self-care advice to help manage and prevent future problems.

Some health funds provide rebates for Myotherapy. If you’d like to claim your health fund rebate, please let us know during your session.

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy uses targeted pressure and release techniques to treat sensitive areas in muscles that can contribute to referred pain. It may help relieve muscle tension, discomfort, and restricted movement.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a focuses on the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and connects muscles and other structures throughout the body. Specific techniques are used to release areas of tension and restriction, helping improve mobility, reduce pain and restore function.

Sports Massage
Sports Massage supports performance, recovery, and injury prevention by relieving muscle tension, reducing soreness, and improving flexibility. Ideal before or after exercise, it uses deep tissue techniques and stretching to enhance mobility and circulation.
